20:00-23:00 | Tiptree Heath mothing session. Mothing session with Colchester Natural History Society and Essex Moth Group. Tiptree Heath, Colchester CO5 0PT. Tiptree Heath is a small fragment of what was once a much larger area of heathland that stretched from Maldon to Messing. For such a small area it holds a wealth of wildlife. The area is actively managed to enhance this. Moth trapping here in the past has always been very productive with a number of scarce and attractive species being caught. Please bring a seat and a torch with you and a wide-brimmed hat to protect your eyes from the bright light that is used to attract the moths.
